What is FishID?
FishID is an innovative system that uses AI to identify, count and measure aquatic animals and plants. Our expert team configure and deploy FishID to address the unique data collection and processing challenges faced by our clients. We provide customised solutions that enable clients to make informed decisions based on reliable and comprehensive data.
We help managers apply automated monitoring in a range of ecosystems, including challenging environments that prevent other forms of monitoring.
FishID is part of a suite of tools developed by The Global Wetlands Project (GLOW) from Griffith University, which is committed to empowering coastal and marine conservation.
How can we help?
Macquarie University and FishID Team 2022
Challenging environments
Environmental monitoring is often needed in habitats with less than ideal conditions. We help overcome these challenges with proven tools that work for a range of challenging conditions, including turbid waters and night-time monitoring.

Environmental monitoring
From coral reefs to seagrasses to river estuaries, we help managers apply automation techniques, for environmental monitoring needs. Our solution automates stock counting, species identification, sizing, animal behaviour, and movement patterns, of aquatic animals from video footage, still images and live streaming cameras

Integrated Artificial Intelligence
AI solutions bring inference to edge devices and systems, closer to where data is captured, integrating real-time insights with long term trends. Automation reduces latency between sampling and decision making, with high data availability and reliability at reduced cost.
